The board of county commissioners met and were able to dispose of all the business on the dock et and adjourn the shme day. There was not much on hand, owing to the fact that the special December session bad made a clean-up of the 1911 business. It was expected that the commissioners would elect a new county attorney to take the place of George A, Williams and it was also presumed that Edward P. Honan, for many years an active democratic worker and the only democratic lawyer in the city, would be chosen, and he is understood to have expected the appointment. When the matter was brought up for action It was decided to declare the office vacant and not to elect It is understood democratic members are saying that they will not emply a regular counsel but will hire one for any special occasion. Whether the plan is simply to sidetrack Mr. Honan or for the sake of economy, we are unable to say. But it was a keen disappointment to Attorney Honan, whose energetic efforts were largely instrumental in bringing about party success. Various ditch cases were continued.
