Ne Special Train to Attend Battle Ground Centennial.

No arrangement was made to send a special train here to transport people to the centennial celebration at Battle Ground Tuesday, Nov. 7th, and Agent Beam did not receive any authorization to sell tickts at a reduced rate. There are a good many talking about going to the celebration, many of the people here seemingly having had ancestral relatives in the battle. They will either have to go on the early‘morning train or on the 11:20, at which time a part of the program will have been carried out. The sham battle between 800 Purdue students and 500 members of the Red Men’s lodge, should prove a very interesting feature if the weather is agreeable. Shelby Grant, of this township, has an old flint lock rifle that was used by the Indian forces In that battle. It was changed some years ago to the cap form. Another rifle, which was used by a soldier in Harrison’s force, is now a part of the museum in the local Grand Army Hall.
