Skeleton 4,900 Years Old.

St Petersburg.—A stone coffin containing a* skeleton,-food, ales, and implements of the stone age, has been discovered in a cave in the Aland isles. The character of the weapons and Implements indicate that they are of a period at least 6000 B. C.» when the Aland Isles werq submerged, the coffin and its contents having been lowered in a depression in the sea bed, which accounts for its wonderful preservation.
