Former Jasperites Prize Winners in Potato Contest.

A letter dated Oct. 6th, from Mrs. James Lefler, of Koss, Mich., tells of their taking first and second premium on potatoes at a fruit and vegetable exhibit held by Lauerman brothers at their big department store Jn Marionette, Wis., also of their fine garden, especially their nice onions and hubbard squashes. One squash Weighed 28 pounds; one onion measured 16& inches in circumference and weighed 1% pounds, and another measured 14% Inches and weighed 1% pounds. The abundance of rain has prevented any damage from forest fires. Mr. and Mrs. Lefler are well.
