B. S. Fendig Sells Old Tom Spitler Property to J. F. Randle.
B. S. Fendig, who for some time hap ownecLwhat is known as the Tom Spitler property, located at the corner of Cullen and Cornelia streets, has sold the same to J. T. Randle, the consideration beings $2,600. Mr. Fendig takes in part trade a lot just south of the Harry Kresler property on Cullen street. The Spitler property was among the oldest in Rensselaer and for some years after it was remodeled at the close of the war it was among the finest residences in thetown. Tom Spitler and family occupied it for many years and after his death it was heired by Eugene Spitler, and B. S. Fendig purchased it from him. The property has deteriorated a good deal in recent years, poor tenants occupying it for some time and finally it was left unoccupied and it is new in a very dilapidated condition. The sills and frames of the house are in excellent condition, However, and can be used in the construction Of a modern house which Mr. Randle will erect there. The building, it is understood, will be designed for a 'large boarding house or private hotel, and following Mr. Randle’s progressive policy in all the buildings he has erected, it will be strictly modern. The location is excellent for the purpose proposed and the Improvement will be a credit to the city and especially to the neighborhood where the present old building stands.
