German Beef Stew.
Cut two poundß of lean beef in cubes, brown in dripping with one onion, add two cups warm water or stock. Simmer three-quarters hour, add twelve small peeled onions, cook one-half hour, add twenty-four stoned olives. Fifteen minutes before serving add one-half cup sultana raisins or stoned prunes. ■>
