Tomato Preserves.

Peel twenty-four good sized ripe tomatoes, quarter and cook slowly one hour with one cupful less of sugar than you have tomatoes. Add nine large peaches that have been peeled and sliced thin, cook another hour. Leave in four of the peach stones while cooking. Upon removing from the fire add one tablespoonful of vanilla. Pot in glasses and when cold cover with paraffin.
