At The Churches.

The Forty-hour Devotional service concluded in Sacred Heart church last week was a success. Seven priests were in attendance to assist Rey. Father Schultz, namely, Rev. Day, the missionary leader of Fowler; Rev. Detrick, C. S. S. K., of Chicago; Rev. Zfrcher, of Goodland; Rev. Kock, of Reynolds; Rev. Buehler, of Otis, Ill.; Revs. Arnold, Clemens and Daniels, of Rensselaer, and Rev. Berg, of Whiting. The parishioners were rejoiced to have Father Berg, a former pastor, in their midst again. Mr. Ashley is conducting a series of revival meetings 'in the Christian church this week. The weather interfered somewhat with the attendance at the all-day meeting and basket dinner Sunday. Rev. Peters gave excellent sermons and everyone felt that

the dav had furthered Christian fellowship and good will. Rev. Crowder tilled the pulpitmoming and evening last Sunday for the last time before going to attend conference at Terre Haute. The evening service was a union of the three Protestant congregations, and after the sermon, pronuoncing eulogistic words of praise, commendation and friendship. Such gatherings of Christians* do much to advance the cause of the church and weld the chains that bind toe “Brotherhood of Man.” Rev. Crowder has been with this congregation for five years of very successful ministration. The good wishes of the community are with him and bis family. _ Ji
