I bought' |2 worth and after holding them so that the gummy sides wouldn’t meet I carefully placed them In an envelope. It happened that envelop contained a bit of verse that I had prepared a couple of days before and addressed to an editor, but had not sealed, intending to glance over it once more. "Well, I did not look at the stuff after all and, of course, forgot about the stamps and sent the letter off. Shortly afterward the verse came back with the usual regrets.
