Gwin and daughter, Miss Ellen, attended the state fair yesterday and stopped off in Monticello last night for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas. Miss Mabel Downey, who has been visiting Mrs. C. H. Stultz, at McCoysburg, went to Monon this morning, where she will attend school this winter. Ed Harris, Milt Witham and Capt Chas. W. Dawson, of Mt Ayr, returned this morning via the Monon from Indianapolis, where they attended the state fair. Mr. and Mrs. Newt Pumphrey went to Columbia City today on a prospecting trip. Newt’s father owns a farm over there and they went over to look at it and may decide to move there an-, other year. Don’t believe us. We might lie. Come in and judge for yourself. Buy a pair. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott returned to Danville,'lll., today, after a visit of a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Francis, west of town. Mrs. Francis returned home with her daughter. L. H. WiFlie and family, who live on on the former J. K. Davis farm near Pleasant Grove, which he owns, expect to move to Rensselaer in about three weeks, in order to send their children to the Rensselaer schools. George M. Robinson has jeceived word from his wife, who was called to Connersville on account of the sickness of her father, stating that he had suffered a stroke of paralysis. His name is Eli Ketchum and his age is 57 years. ; ; A middle aged man with a home in a pleasant countyseat town is advertising for a wife in the Mt. Ayr Pilot. He wants a woman of his own age and will give her a tryout as a housekeeper for awhile to see how well they get along. George McColly returned yesterday from a visit at Muncie, Dunkirk, Albany and Hartford City. He was accompanied by his sister, Mrs.' Nancy Payne, who remained for a longer visit and who will also visit at Frankfort before returning.
