Capt John M. Garrett, 77 years old, blind and deaf for twenty-five years as a result of injuries received in the civil war, died Saturday evening at his home in Indianapolis. He was captain of Company E, Eleventh Indiana Cavalry, and served four years. After the war he was prominent in republican politics in Indianapolis.
