FATHER DANIEL GUEST OF HONOR IN SEDALIA.

St Augustine Pastor Visits Scene of Former Labors in Missouri and Paper Praises Him. From the Sedalia, Mo., DemocratSentinel, the appended item concerning Father Christian Daniel, who has been visiting there, is taken: The ladies of the Altar society of Sacred Heart church gave one of the most successful socials in their history on the parochial lawn on West Third street Wednesday night, and as a result of their labors the snug sum of about 385 will be cleared. The lawn was beautifully decorated with flags, bunting, cut flowers, potted plants, locomotive headlights, Japanese lanterns, etc., and the scene was most inviting, as an orchestra interspersed excellent music during the entire evening. The honor guest of the evening was the Rev. Fr. Christian Daniel, pastor of St. Augustine’s church -at Rensselaer, Ind., but formerly first assistant pastor of Sacred Heart church here, and he was certainly convinced that he holds a warm place in the affections of the members of the congregation, judging from the attentions bestowed by young and old alike. No priest ever labored more faithfully in any field than did Fr. Daniel during his sojourn in Sedalia. Especially did he minister in the homes where affliction had fallen, no matter how humble the surroundings, the poor receiving the same attention as the rich, and it is not surprising that the best wishes of the entire community accompanied him when he was called to another field. The popular pastor, the Rev. Fr.l S. J. Neiberg, and his two assistants,, the Rev. Fr. Rudolph Stoltz and the' Rev. Fr. Remy Monnin, were present, 1 and did much in the direction of making the entertainment a success, both socially and financially.
