GLASS WORKS THREATENED.

Fire Causes Hard Work on Part of - Kokomo Department.

Kokomo, Ind., July 17.—The local fire department endured one of the hardest fights in its history tonight Nyhen fire whs discovered in the intake pipe which supplies water for the engines and plant of the Pittsburg Plate Glass Works. The fire is supposed to have been started from spontaneous combustion in the saw-, dust packed box which surrounds the pipe. The tank is stationed just above the engine rooms of the factory, and the fire had eaten its way to the edge of the tank before subdued. There is no estimate of the loss.
