Monon Switchman Lost Both Legs In Yards Monday Night.

D. L. Ryan, 35 years of age, employed as a switchmen in the Monon yards at Monon, lost both of his legs in an accideht that occurred at 2 o’clock Tuesday morning. Ryan is said to have tried to step on the running board.of the engine as it moved by and to .have missed his step and fallen beneath the wheels. The left legs was crushed off just below the knee and the right heel and foot was so badly crushed that amputation at the ankle were necessary., It ’s thought that he will survive the shock. Ryan is married and has four children.
