The Monon Railroad Will Not Suffer for Fuel.

The Monon railroad has purchased two coal mines on the Chicago, Terre Haute & Southwestern railroad, between Bedford and Linton, and will begin mining the coal about October 1. A number of large compound engines will be purchased to pull the coal trains and as soon as the mines are in operation these trains will be seen going through this city. The purchase was made, primarily, to insure the road a reliable and adequate supply of fuel for its engines, but the over production will go into commercial use and the road will supply as much of the market demand as possible. The coal is of goad quality and belongs to the bituminous class.
