Minister Killed Trying to Rescue Boy at Winona Lake.

The following dispatch from Winona Lake appeared in the Indianapolis Star under date of July 12th: In an automobile accident tonight, the Rev. Samuel W. Elliott, a Presbyterian minister of Lafayette, was killed. The accident occurred on the Pierceton road, near here. Dr. Elliott was 65 years old and a gate keeper of Winona. A boy outside the grounds got in front of the automobile, and the driver started into the fence to miss the lad, when the aged minister stepped out to save the lad and was struck. His skull was fractured.
