Two hggdred and one deaths and two hundred and seventy-three prostrations was the toll exacted by Chicago’s record breaking hot wave which lasted for five days. The snake appeared to be as frightened as the man and escaped into the uncut hay. Bussell was so frightened ho could not proceed for several minutes.
