Train's Queer Freak.
To jump from, and then regain the metals was the queer prank of the engine of the Brighton and South Coast train lately. The train was entering the station when the engine left the rail. The train ran on for 119 yards, and then the engine remounted the rails. One hundred of the chairs upon which the sleepers rest were broken off, and considerable damage was done to the permanent way, but the engine was undamaged and none of the passengers were hurt.—London MalL :
