Wife of Übero Promoter Wants Divorce—Husband a Convict.

Logansport, Ind., May 10.—Ferdinand Borges, promotor of the famous Übero plantation scheme, now serving a term in a Massachusetts penitentiary for his part in the operations, was today made a defendant in a divorce suit filed by his wife, Lillian Borges. Mrs. Borges has been making her home at Indianapolis. Borges operated with William Owens, former Eleventh district congressman of this city, in promoting the Übero plantation scheme which was exposed as a giant swindle years ago. Owens is still a fugitive supposedly abroad.
