Automobile Runs Into Ditch Tuesday and Is Demolished.
Arthur Battleday, who has been working at Knapp’s garage, took one of Mr. Knapp’s cars last evening to go to supper. The machine ran Into the ditch near the former Ralph Marshall place, throwing Battleday and the son of J. L. Smith out of the car. Batleday was %urt some, but Smith received the worse injuries. He was thrown though the glass front of the car, the glass cutting his face badly. He struck against a post of a wire fence, breaking the post entirely in two. Besides the outs on the face, he receivd numerous bruises. The car, which was a 5-passenger one, was a complete wreck. The top was torn off, the front axle spring an* 1 back axle were broken, as was the glass.front, and the wheels on one Bide were also broken. About the only part of the car uninjured were the tires. It is thought that $l5O will put the car in .fair condition again.
