Experts of the University of Illinois, led by Dr. Cyril G. Hopkins, chief in. agronomy, are advancing the campaign through the Bankers’ association of Illinois. There are 1,480 banka behind the movement for preservation; of the richness of the soli of Illinois. Fifty thousand fanners are to be reached in the first move of the campaign. That Is tbe number of the first edition of “Saving the Soil,” a new booklet, by Dr. Hopkins, issued for distribution in every city and village in the state, and sent out today through the bankers’ organisation. Secretary Richard L. Crampton of tho association announced the next issue, on another agricultural topic, -will be 500.000 folders.
