Modernizing Jerusalem.

David Yellin, a member of the municipality of Jerusalem, says that the authorities in the holy city are-con-sidering the provision of an adequate water and the installatoin of a modern system of drainage. People In Jerusalem are beginning to realise that a greater influx of tourists, on whbm the inhabitants principally depend for their livelihood, can only be expected if things are made comfortable for tbem by the proviaion of proper accommodations, the lighting and paving of the streets, the freeing of the city from dust and improvements travel facilities. > -
