District Attorney J. S’. Clarke ol New York was talking about the re cent kidnaping cases. “Kidnapers,” he said, “are apt to disappear now. They have becom« too unpopular. Wh# a kidnaper is a« unpopular as a widower. “Widows, now, are very attractive, but about a widower there is always something uncanny, something almost clammy—l mean, of course, from the matrimonial point of view. “I know a widower who is thinking of marrying again.
