Mrs. Dora Hammond and son Williard returned to Indianapolis today after spending a week with Mrs. J. K. Smith and other relatives and attending the surprise birthday party given Mrs. Smith Sunday. “Uncle” Charley Sternberg came down from Chicago morning. He voted before he came, that being his legal residence now. From what he could gather from “town talk” Harrison had a better chance -of election, but hfs opinion was challenged by a Chicago traveling man who had also remained home to vote and who felt quite certain that Merriam would win.
