Polos Spending Week Training For Big Saturday Night Match.
William Polos came up from Lafayette Tuesday afternoon and is spending all the week here training for his big match with Tom Coburn at the Ellis theatre Saturday night Polos made a proposition to some of the" young aspirants that he would come here and spend the week as an instructor if they would pay his board and they took him up. He had his first class Tuesday night when eleven boys were given a workout and started off with some of the fine points of the game. Polos is a boxer of considerable ability and brought along jws boxing gloves and uses them in his training. He-says he is determined to win from Coburn and will do the hardest training he has ever done to get Into condition. Coburn and his manager arrived in Rensselaer this Wednesday morning and he too will spend the week training for his match. He looks to have all the best of Polos because of his excessive weight, but the fact that he failed to throw Polos in an hour before has convinced many that he will be better in a finish match and will give his big opponent all he can handle. This match is creating all sorts of enthusiasm and will probably draw the largest crowd yet, and possibly the largest crowd that was ever in the opera house. The tickets are now on sale and reservations should be made without delay. Manager Ellis will take telephone orders and hold ihe jjeats until 7 o’clock on the evening of the match.
