Device Prevents Collisions.

Says the London Times: “A successful demonstration has been made at Sydney, Australia, of a device for preventing railway collisions. An engine automatically whistles, and if the engine driver fails an electric controller automatically applies the brakes. The invention undoubtedly prevents collisions between trains going either in the same or in opposite directions, and whether on single or on double lines. The Inventor claims that tbe controller also deals with derailments at* points or curves, and completely eliminates the human factor from accidents.”
