Farr Coart of Inquiry to Result In Few Minor Cases.
As a result, of the- court of inquiry held at Parr yesterday by Prosecutor Longwell and Deputy Wood, a few prosecutions for minor infractions of the law will result. The proceedings were held before Squire Irwin, and the larger part of the population of Parr and vicinity were examined. The investigation of the robbery of Woods’ store was without result. It had been entered and goods taken, and local talent was suspected, but the evidence was not sufficient to indict. The robbery of the pool room and slot machine was also investigated, but was barren of result.
Infractions of the liquor law was also investigated but the guilty parties could not be located. . One party at Parr who had been drunk two times lately testified tftat the first time he got drunk he found a bottle of whiskey under a buggy cushion which he happened to lift up; and proceeded to celebrate his good luck with a big drunk. The second time he was even more fortunate. He was passing an isolated spot, when he noticed a new pair of hip boots sitting on the ground. As they were better boots than he was wearing, he decided to exchange, but when lie went to put them on he found a quart bottle of whiskey in one of the boots, and was so overjoyed that he forgot tc appropriate the boots, but made use of the liquor, which finally got the best of him. The Parr druggist had been losing liquor from his store room and intimated that he was ento protection from the thefts A number of boys were having a game of penny ante in the pickle factory building one Sunday sorn*-. time ago. A mother of one of the boys missed him and discovered him in an interesting game, and turned the game into a prayer meeting. These boys will have to answer this infraction of the law, it is said. The proceedings will be brought by the prosecutor either before Squire Irwin or in the circuit court.
