Aged Citizen of Barkley-Tp. Died Saturday Morning.
James Davis died at his home in Barkley township last Saturday morning at 3 o'clock. He would have bean 82 years of age had he lived until May 17th. He had been in poor health for some years but took seriously ill only a few days before his death. The funeral was held from the late residence Sunday afternoon and burial was made in the Praeter cemetery. His wife preceded him to the grave, having died March 4, 1903. Seven children survive, namely, Mrs. Lucy Payne, of Colfax; Joseph Davis, of near Gifford; Mrs. Eliza Hamilton, of Clarks Hill; Mrs. Cordelia Bridewell, of Kirkpatrick; Mrs. Sadie Hamilton, of Milroy township; Mrs. Hannah Marion, of Barkley township, and Mrs. Emma McCoy, who resided with her father. Deceased had resided in Barkley township for about twentyfive years.
