Fortnightly Club Meeting.

The Fortnightly Club gave a “Valentine Party” Tuesday evening at the home of Mrs. Wm. Townsend. The rooms were attractivefy decorated with cupids, hearts, etc. The committee in charge of affairs was Mrs Robinson, Mrs. Gray 'and Mrs. Barnes. Searching for hearts, archery and other amusements kept the guests in a constant state of merriment. Mrs. Geo. Chappell and Mr. Lough wen a first prize and Rev. Bull should have done a little stunt for punishment, but was excused because of his embarrassment in public speaking, presumably. The hostess served refreshments suggestive of the day, and at a la*e hour the club ladles and their husbands, and the few special guests wended their homeward way from one more of the famous gatherings for which this club has always been noted. The next session is with Mrs. Hargreaves, March Ist.
