The | Methodist ladies served their tea Thursday at the home of Mrs. Geo. Durham. : ' ' ' Mr. and Mrs. Ira Grant are visiting friends in and near Logansport since Wednesday. - , 1 Miss Bessie Deck, of Darlington, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Pern Lpugb since Saturday. Mrs. Albert Dodge is rapidly recovering from the effects of her recent operation in Chicago. Mrs. Malsbary’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horner, returned to their home in Medaryville Tuesday. Mrs. Dexter Jones is still quite ill. The specialist called last week from Chicago offered the family considerable encouragement. Lowell Townsend spent a ten days’ vacation with his parents, returning Tuesday morning to his postgraduate work at Northwestern university. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hackley and Mrs. Ethel HensleF and baby went to Medaryville Friday for a short visit wish their cousin, Dr. Fithian Hackley. Mrs. Harold Bowman, of Lafayette, came Friday evening for a short visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C, H. Peck. Her husband came later and they returned home Sunday evening, Miss Stella Wilson, of Crawfordsville, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Beal since last Thursday. She has been visiting in Detroit and Anderson previous to coming to Remington. Mrs. Langdon gave a surprise dinner party in honor of her daughter Florence’s birthday, last Thursday. Miss Minnie Bartoo, Miss O’Dell, Miss Esther Barnes and Pauline Bartoo were the guests. Mr. and Mrs. Morcum, brother and sister of Mrs. Edward Bull, came las'; Thursday for a short visit In Remington before returning to their home in Duluth, after traveling in the western states for several months. Mrs. Wm. Beal gave a dinner Friday night in honor of Miss Wilson Among the guests were Mother Beal and Miss Ida Beal, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Grant. Mother Beal entertained all her children at dinner Sunday. Mrs. Jas. Gilbert entertained Monday evening in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Tyler, who leave Friday for their new home in Dakota. Guests to the number of thirty or forty were present and spent the evening in various amusements, the hostess serving daidty refreshments. The Study Club met with Miss O’Dell Monday evening. From “Social Ideals in English Letters,” Miss Yeoman handled Chapter 3 and Mrs. Dell Gray, Part 11, Chapter 1. A committee of three, Miss Louise Hartman, MBs Johnston and Miss Mary Bartee had prepared a program of amusement? and refreshments with St. Valentine largely in evidence, which afforded the members much enjoyment. The Study Club, each ibid-Whiter, Indulges In a “Frolic,” and closes the club year with an Annual. The next session is with Miss Laura Warnock, Feb. 27th.
