Order of Gleaners Elect New Officers and Get New Members.
John Livingston, a field worker for the Gleaners, a fraternal order of farmers with headquarters at Detroit, has been here for several days working in the interest of the local lodge. Five new members were secured and at a meeting Tuesday night new officers were elected, as .follows: James Amsler, chief gleaner; Joe Kanne, vice chief gleaner; J. F. Nelson, secretary- Mrs. Stephen Kohley, chaplain; John Martin, conductor; Viola Martin, conductress; Arthur Kanne, lecturer; Edmund Martin, inner guard; Tony Kanne, outer guard. Meetings are now being held in the country at the Welsh school house, but it is hoped to secure enough membership to Justify the renting of a hall in Rensselaer and the holding of regular meetings here. We are still selling oranges cheaper than apples. Nice, sweet seedless California navels, 15 and 20 emits a dozen; lemons, 15c a dozen; cranberries, 10c a quart ยป
