GRAND JURY BUSIEST FOR MANY YEARS PAST,

Men Galled From All Over Jasper -County to Tell What They Know About Selling of Liquor. From all over Jasper county men are coining to Rensselaer to testify before the grand jury. Evidently the effort is largely being made to. determine who Is selling whiskey and other intoxicating beverages, and, it is not impossible that some indictments will be returned and -that the evidence will be sufficient to secure the conviction of some men who have been handling liquor in various bootlegging forms. From Union township came a lot of men Tuesday who are supposed to have been asked questions about the alleged sale of liquor at Parr. Others from that section of the county are being examined this Wednesday afternoon. A large delegation from Wheatfield was also subpoenaed to testify before the grand jury and others from about Pleasant Grove. A liberal number of subpoenaes are said to have been issued in Rensselaer and it is probable that an effort is being made here to locate the sellers of booze. It is also said that gamblers are to receive some attention at this grand jury and that an effort will be made to break up several alleged poker games. _j., The activity of Prosecutor Longwell and the grand jury seems to be a great surprise and, it is understood, sufficient evidence is being acquired to secure a big batch of indictments.
