REPUBLICANS BOLT CAUCUS; WILL HATE 433 CONGRESSMEN.

Republicans Who Favored Increase Join With Democrats and House Passes Crumpaeker BUI.

The house of representatives Thursday passed the Crumpaeker hill, which provides for the increase of the number of congressmen to 433. This will mean that' Indiana will retain thirteen congressmen and that Champ Clark, of Missouri, will be the next speaker of the house ,of representatives. Republicans in recent caucus decided against the Cnwnpacker bill and provided for only 391 members. This would have resulted in the loss of a congressman from Indiana. Now all the heads will be saved and a reapportionment of ’the state will probably not be necessary. ’Thursday Crumpaeker and other republicans bolted the caucus and voted with democrats for the Increased number, for which Representative Crumpacker, as chairman of the house committee on census, has all the time contended.
