FRENCH MILITARY STORES DESTROYED BY FIRE.

IN a fire which broke out in the bar racks and depot of the 59th regiment of infantry at, Gompiegne, France, all the regimental stores,, arms, and accoutrements were destroyed. These included 12,000 rifles and the uniforms of the reserve and territorial battalions. The damage was estimated at about $400,000. The whole garrison turned out to assist in fighting the flames, but owing to the high wind the fire raged for several hours.
