PINNED ON COIFFURES \ GREAT CONVENIENCE TO BUSY WOMAN OF TODAYS Present Modes Require Much Time for Dressing, and Hair Won’t Stay Dressed So Long as Will the Artificial. No matter how generous, great and mighty nature may have been in the matter of hair, it Is impossible for the busy woman of today (more especially the business woman) to dispense with false hair. A coiffure cannot be dressed in the present modes without spending time generously. And after it is dressed it won't stay dressed for many hours, as the artificial hair does. It has come about that the pinned on tresses are taken as a matter of
course, taken off and put on almost as freely as a hat In the lavatories of the shops it is an every hour occurrence to see some pretty lady primping a bit with her chignon removed to be pinned on in a minute. In fact the chignons are a blessing. Only the great beauty can wear her hair severely plain, and such Is the masculine fondness for curls and ringlets and puffs, that simple styles of hair dressing fall to make any Impression of beauty on the average man. Every gentle lady should take careful note that pretty hair dressing makes the strongest of appeals to her men folks. They preach simplicity and hold forth on the subject of face powder and hair puffs, but they likewise pay attention to the wearers of these beauties in fact are more attracted by
good grooming than anything else. It Is a charm that does not pass away. The pretty chignon of puffs and curls shown here dresses the hair completely. One has only to wave the front hair and place the remainder in a coil, or two, at tlje back of the head to make ready for the chlgnon. Arrange the front hair -in a part or a pompadour and pin on the chignon. The puffs and curls next the head should be pulled out and made a little fluffy and then pinned down closely. Of course, the hair of the chignon must match the hair of the wearer exactly. Once become the owner of such a convenience and the habit of wearing the pinned on coffure Is fixed: —for it is the greatest of beautiflers and the best of tipie-savers. JULIA BOTTOMLEY.
