A. 6. W. Farmer Witnessed Inauguration of Oklahoma Governor.
Oklahoma City, January 16th, 1911. Editor Rensselaer Republican So far we are enjoying our visit fine, there is so much going on here that is interesting and we are trying to take in some of it. We have attended some of the principal churches and heard some of their noted preachers; attended the inauguration of the new governor, happened to get a seat by the side of Ezra Clark. There was an immense crowd of enthusiastic people when the Governor told them that he would enforce the prohibition law and if they got convicted he would not pardon them, tjiere went up a mighty cheer. The aviators began a four days meet Saturday morning. I was out Saturday afternoon and saw three very nice flights and want to go out again this afternoon and see what goes on. We find the weather changeable here as in Indiana but the changes are not so radical; no rain or snow yet and seems too dry for health. There is much “La Grippe.” We find the people here think that Oklahoma is the state and Oklahoma City the center of attraction, and in some respects it is indeed a wonderful place. We have not decided yet when we will start home. . Yours Respectfully, A. G. W. Farmer.
