Good, Soft Gingerbread. 1

Four cups of flour, one-half cup of butter or lard, one cup jof molasses, one cup of milk , one teaspoon of soda and the same of ginger. Heat the molasses and. add the shortening and milk. Sift the soda and flour together, while dry. Have a buttered pan ready and add the liquid to the flour by degrees, stlningsas you pour. Bake in a hot oven.
