Those who recall Gray’s “Elegy in a Country Churchyard” will remember that the peaceful spot where “the rude forefathers of the hamlet sleep” is identified with St. Giles’, Stoke Poges, Buckinghamshire.> In the prosaic pages of a recent is£ue of the Gazette there appears an order in council providing that ordinary interments are henceforth forbidden in the churchyard.
