Ernest O. Holland Offered Head of Louisville Schools.
Prof. Ernest O. Holland, who in the middle nineties was the principal of the Rensselaer schools, and who is now an Instructor in English at >.ne Indiana state university, has been tendered the position of superintendent of the Louisville, Ky., schools. Prof,, E. H. Mark, the present superintendent, is being ousted from office. The Louisville position pays $5,000 per year and a dispatch from Bloomington says that Prof. Holland has been there since the first of tbe week looking after the proposition. Prof. Holland received his A. B. degree at Indiana University in 1895 and subsequently studied at Columbia university. where he will be given the degree of Ph. D. the coming year. He held the chair of education at the University of Indiana for several years and has studied in German and French universities. He is 37 years of age.
