Star Says Opposition to Repeal is Waste of Time.

Indianapolis Star. The Star Is beseiged with letters from correspondents who seem to entertain hope of dissuading the legislature from amending the county option law in accordance with the demo cratic platform. Sometimes it seems that if perhaps a concerted effort or a kind of endless chain were in operation to create sentiment on these lines. However this may be, it is perfectly certain that all such effort is idle and vain and a stop must be put to publication of these letters. Any discussion of the subject that contains pertinent or practical suggestions is welcome, but it is not possible to occupy space for'a wholesale propaganda for something that can not possibly come to pass. It is necessary in our form of government to acquiesce in popular verdicts and our present “wet” legislature is one of them. If the people of Indiana had wanted the option law to stand they should have elected a republican legislature. It is too late now to address either the voters or the legislature on that issue.
