Small Blaze at County Farm Conquered By the Matron.

The well house at the county farm, in which a Are had been started preparatory to rendering out some lard, caught fire aL about 10 o’clock this Friday morning and was making considerable headway when discovered. Mrs. Jesse E. Nichols, wife of the manager of the farm, and her nephew, Johnnie Groom, succeeded in putting out the flames, but not until the roof and the inside had burned considerably. Mrs. Nichols scaled a ladder and mounted the roof while the nephew carried water to her and but for speedy action a bad fire might have resulted.
