Jim Carr is still hauling lumber. Marion Pierson is helping Cicero Pancoast husk corn. Allie Francis * called Sunday on his sister, Mrs. Wuerthner, Jr. John Rush and family visited several days last week with relatives in Illinois. Wednesday was the first real winter day of the season. Some snow fell and the ground is frozen quite a bit. Misses Mae’ and Grace Kelly returned home Saturday from a visit of a week with their uncle in Illinois. Frankie King, of Parr, Roy Scott, of northeast of town, and Walter Smith and Elizabeth Feldhaus spent Saturday night and Sunday with the Holmes family. Surprise parties are all the go in this vicinity, four being held last week. Wednesday night there was a surprise at Joe Trulley’e; Thursday night at Fred Walings; Friday night at Cicero Pancoast’s, and Saturday night at Sidney Holmes’. Refreshments were served and a fine time was had at each place. ' A husband can’t expect to be regarded as the “Big Chief’ around the ■house and' at the same time to be [petted and coddled like a papoose.
