Turkey Roast Quite a number of friends and neighbors were entertained at the beautiful country residence of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lane, at a turkey roast Thanksgiving. At the noon hour a bountiful dinner was served by the hostess, to Which all did ample justice. Those who enjoyed the hospitality of the host and hostess were Mr. and Mrs. David Shumaker and family, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Gaffield and Mr. Noah Wenrick and daughter Edith, and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lane and family. Shredding is the order of the day. A. L. Frazier was a Rensselaer goer Monday. Noah Wenrick spent Monday in Rensselaer. Harry Shumaker' is hauling gravel for Mr. Jacks. Miss Pearl Icel spent Sunday with Miss Mary Bice. Mrs. M. E. Bice has as her guest her sister from lowa. / Mrs. Will Iliff and daughter spent Friday with Mrs. C. Schafer. Miss Dorothy Shumaker spent Monday night with Miss Nellie Eck. Miss Hazel Shumaker spent Friday night at Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wells. George Wenrick and Dal Hufford spent Sunday night in Rensselaer. The oyster supper at Frank Horswood’s Thursday night was well attended. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Peters hgve as their guest, Mr. Peter’s sister from Chicago. v Mrs. D. Shumaker and daughter assisted Mrs. Will Iliff to cook for the shredders Wednesday. Mrs. David Shumaker and daughters, Hazel, Helen, Crystal and Vera, visited Mrs. Conrad Schaffer Friday. Miss Stella Bristo was very pleasantly surprised by t number of her friends, who gathered at her home to remind her of her thirteenth birthday. Quite a number of- the people were masked, and some very interesting costumes were introduced. The evening was spent in playing games. Pop corn and cake were served. All report a fine time and wish Stella many more happy birthdays. Quite a jolly crowd was entertained at Henry and John Toban’s Thanksgiving evening. Those who enjoyed the evening were Will Iliff and son, Hugh, Leopard and Verne Bice, Harry and Cecil Shumaker, George Wenrich, Dale Hufford and Henry and John Toban. Refreshments were served, consisting of oysters, pickles, cake, bananas and peanuts. Mr. Iliff and Dale Hufford are declared to be the biggest oyster eaters. All report a fine time.
