New Lamp Shades.

It is rather hard to tell whether some of, the new lamp shades were made by the milliner or by the dressmaker. A splendid affair in one of the monstrous shapes so much liked is covered with stiff flowered brocade and has a band of gold lace applied over a long silk fringe. A shade of cretonne having a design of huge cabbage roses is finished with two fringes, a narrow pink fringe to match the flowers above a wide fringe of buff to matcn the background. A young lady who mu-t at least be praised for her Ingen tity used Pink neck niching to finish a fluted shade of pale pink silk. i ■ ■■ '.i. ■
