Evening Republican, Volume 14, Number 242, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 11 October 1910 — New Are Lamp. [ARTICLE]
New Are Lamp.
A new form of vo lamp has last been devised, in which carbon are used instead of carbon rods. Theaa disks are constantly rotated, and the arc takes place between the part* pheries of the disks. Owing to the continuous rotation, the disks are consumed uniformly. The lamps are small as compared to the ordinary type. The size of a ten-ampere lamp is but 20 Inches over all. It is claimed for this lamp that it will burn SO per cent longer than the rod type.
