The Rev. W. H. Hinshaw, of Belleville, Ind., serving a life term in the Indiana State prison, Tuesday applied for a pardon before the state board, on the ground that he is rapidly failing in health. Hinshaw was paroled by Governor Durbin- in 1905, but was returned to prison when he violated his parole by alleged acts of intimacy with the wife of the sheriff of Wabash county. Effie Longnecker, 16 years old, has cleared up the mystery regarding her disappearance in Chicago by writing her parents in Hammond that she has joined the chorus of a Mort Singer musical company and intends to go on the road with a production. The girl’s father is an employe of the Monon railroad and had informed his daughter that he would disown her if she went on the stage.
