Now, there is William Camberwell, A gentle soul is he— He runs the popular hotel At March-Place-by-the-Sea. Mosquitoes hover all about And zip beside your ears, But William Camberwell will shout: "Don't kill the little dears.” For Camberwell is president Of the S. P. C. A., «■ - And holds by "animals” is meant Mosquitoes blithe and gay. So hg has now devised a plan Their bites to obviate— Within each room he nas a pan t Of stuff to fumigate. He argues that by this device The room is vaporized And the mosquitoes, in a trice, Are antisepticised. Then they may come and roam around All through the stilly night. While every zooming, zummlng sound Predicts a stingless bite. And so each guest is duly warned To neither slap nor whack The poor mosquito, falsely scorned, “When it calls for a snack. For, thus says William Camberwell: "It does not hurt the guest; The Insect’s pleased, the truth to tell, And all is for the best.”
