The theme at the morning service at the Baptist church, Sunday, will be, “God’s Standard of Perfection, and How Attained.” Those who do not worship elsewhere are cordially invited to meet with us in the worship of God. The dyke near Shelby, oh the north side of the river, will soon be completed, and then all of the low Kankakee lands in Lake county will be shut off from the river water and Jasper and Newton counties will'have it all to care for, but possibly if the dry seasons continue long that the Lake county people will be obliged to tap the river again to irrigate the parched lands. It seems this season that it is coming to that.—Crown Point Star.
