The Absent-Minded Man.

An absent-minded man is Jim; not many are so odd As he. They tell strange narratives of him to prove how funny he can be. His folks at home laughing yet about a caper thus canned: He had a hen that wished to set, and had a watch he fain would wind. And, musing on affairs of state, he made a blunder there lifd then, as all his people will relate, he set the watch and wound the hen.
