Rensselaer will play ball at Wadena Sunday. M. Martinson, of Chicago, is visiting his cousin, Dr. J. Hansson. George Hurley and daughter, Miss Ethel, went to Reynolds today for a short visit, Roy Donnelly went to Hammond last evening to join his wife who went up on an earlier train. Mrs. Emma York is today entertaining a dozen ladies from Monon, and Mrs. W. Holmes, of Chicago. John Remley and family yesterday took charge of the depot grocery, which they purchased from A. Simpson. Mrs. Martha Donnelly and Mrs. Ralph Donnelly went to Chicago this morning, the latter to remain but a day or two. The two-year-old son. of Mr. arid Mrs. Elsa Stowers, of the Blackford neighborhood, is probably fatally sick with brain fever. Woman loves a clear, rosy complexion. Mrs. Mary Peyton went to Lafayette today to see her sister, Mrs. A. R. Spaulding, who is quite sick. She will also visit her mother, “Grandma" Weathers, at Otterbein, before returning home. Dave Warner went to Gary yesterday morning to look the new town over. Dave has been working in St. Louis for some time and may possibly decide to locate at Gary if the outlook for business is* good. Miss Anna Nagel left this morning for a visit of two or three weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Nagel, near Mitchell, S. Dak. Mr. Nagel has got in on the Mitchell prosperity and has a fine crop this year. Tom Walters has the foundation built for a' fine residence he will erect in Barkley township, near the Chas. Moody residence. There will be a finished basement under the entire house, with laundry room and lighting system. O Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Clark and daughter Ruth, Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Moore and daughter Elizabeth, started Wednesday afternoon on the Niagara Falls excursion, going via Shelby on the personally conducted excursion over the Three Eye and Lake Shore. George Long and Everett Kenney also took the trip, the former meeting Chicago friends at Shelby. The Republican is permitted to announce the forthcoming marriage of Mr. Harve Robinson and Miss Nina Yeiter. Mr. Robinson is employed at the Princess theatre and is one of the well known and popular young men of Rensselaer. Miss Yeiter is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Yeiter, and is also well known and very popular. The wedding will take place on Aug. 28th. They will make their home in Rensselaer, but complete arrangements as to where they will keep house has not been determined upon.
